Heavy duty columns provide rigid support which eliminates any diagonal bracing on the underside of the mezzanine.

Rack or Shelving Supported Mezzanines are designed using new or existing lower level shelving or racking to partially or fully support a floor system overhead. This is accomplished by installing special supports at the top of the storage system which supports a particular floor system. The flooring can be provided in a number of options from bar grating to roof deck and plywood to roof deck and 12 ga. sheet steel and many other options. Handrail, gates and stairs are also used to access and provide safety for personnel using the system. This type of system allows any upper level storage equipment to be moved around and reconfigured at any time with the lower level being installed in a permanent fixed location.

Two Level Shelving and Rack Mezzanines are designed using the rack or shelving to support a cat walk system in all aisles and pass thru areas. The cat walk is created by installing cross aisle supports across aisle and installing decking over the supports. There is no decking in the foot print of the storage equipment. This makes both the upper and lower level permanent locations for the storage equipment involved with no ability to reconfigure, however this is the most economical system if flexibility is not required. Some parts of this type of system may also include a free standing mezzanine or shelf supported mezzanine to create a space for staging or work area.
